Episode 7 – The Myth of the “Moderate” Muslim

This was initially a written blog post, but then I decided to record a podcast episode instead. The original blog post is below, and below that are the show notes.

You know what really KILLS me about the westernized/modernized/asleep/coconut/whatever you-want-to-call-them so-called “Muslims”? They themselves are guilty of all the accusations they make against others and they don’t see it.

For example: They act like they’re so open minded and tolerant, but the moment you bring an understanding/opinion/evidence that contradicts their “hold hands and sing kumbayah” worldview, they immediately drop their open-minded tolerance and start name-calling, always hiding behind the excuses of “context” and “nuance”, even when the supposed context actually proves them wrong.

They have no concept of al-walaa wal-baraa, constantly making excuses for the kuffar and hiding behind “dawah” as an excuse for compromising on well-documented Islamic principles. They think that we are brothers and sisters in humanity and that we are all equal. But as soon as you bring an understanding that they don’t like or that contradicts their current view, they’re so quick to instantly shun you, condescend to you and accuse you of lacking knowledge, etc. when THEY are actually the ones who lack knowledge.

When you tell them that most of the so-called “scholars” of today are on the payroll of the Tawagheet, they laugh at you like you’re some crazy conspiracy theorist, even though organizations like RAND have openly stated that they are doing this (see RAND’s published paper, Civil Democratic Islam, for example).

They oversimplify the Seerah and claim that RasulAllah (SAWS) was only compassionate merciful and nothing else (and completely ignore the offensive jihad of both RasulAllah (SAWS) himself and the Sahabah after RasulAllah (SAWS)’s death), but when you bring simple evidences from the Seerah that contradict this idea, all of a sudden it becomes complicated! “It’s a complex issue akhi, you have to understand the context”, again hiding behind the excuses of supposed “context” and “nuance”. In fact, they do this with nearly all matters of Deen. They oversimplify for the sake of maintaining their own comfortable understanding, and then over-complicate as soon as they are challenged. And actually, they don’t even call you akhi because to them, you’re not a real Muslim and they themselves lack the character and manners that they accuse you of lacking.

Their views are so twisted by the infiltration and influence of the kuffar that when you bring them evidence, they dismiss it and accuse YOU of being twisted. They’re so quick to condemn perceived “judgment” and “extremism” when really THEY are the ones who are judgmental and have fallen into an extreme.

If you suggest that Islam is anything other than absolute unwavering pacifism and “peace”, they call you an extremist are so quick to say “such-and-such people aren’t Muslims”, making takfir entirely from their own desires, then they accuse the mujaahideen of being “khawarij” for making takfir which the text supports!

They claim to be open minded and tolerant, then they are quick to start debates with you all the while accusing you of being inflammatory and quick to argue! They pretend to be open-minded and have nuance when in reality THEY are the ones who are stubborn upon falsehood! They accuse you of lacking manners and character, when in reality they are the ones who are quick to arguments, judgment, name-calling, etc. instead of perhaps simply asking something like “what is your evidence?”. They accuse you of arrogance for not accepting their worldview despite your ability to refute it with evidence, when in reality they are the ones arrogantly dismissing any discussion contrary to their own opinions.

When it comes to the kuffar, they are so quick to say things like “just because we have different beliefs/viewpoints/opinions doesn’t mean we can’t get along”, but when you come with talk something like al-walaa wal-baraa, watch how quickly they ostracize, condemn, slander, and condescend to you!

When we see our brothers and sisters being slaughtered all over the world, they cry their defeatist crocodile tears and say “all we can do is make du’a”, but as soon as Fulaan and Fulaan decide to do follow up their du’a with action, they condemn them and cry “peace”!

They slander the mujaahideen, they ignore the classical scholars in favor of their modern day celebrities, and they want to hold hands with the kuffar and be unified with them, and they completely reject any suggestion of anything otherwise. They march to the same drum beat as the kuffar, they adopt the same opinions and views of the kuffar, they walk talk and act like the kuffar, they even THINK like the kuffar. But they think because they have the label of “Muslim” then they are automatically on the right path no matter what.

And when it is said to them, “Do not cause corruption on the earth,” they say, “We are but reformers.” Unquestionably, it is they who are the corrupters, but they perceive [it] not. (Baqarah 11-12)

May Allah make us never like them. If we are indeed upon falsehood then may Allah save us from arrogance and open our hearts to accept the haqq. And if we are indeed upon haqq then may Allah shield us from any and all falsehood and misguidance. AMEEN.

Kufr bit-Taghut

Ayat from the Episode

(Sahih International) Then is one who was a believer like one who was defiantly disobedient? They are not equal.

(Muhsin Khan) Is then he who is a believer like him who is Fasiq (disbeliever and disobedient to Allah)? Not equal are they.

Surat As-Sajdah (The Prostration) 18

(Sahih International) And never will the Jews or the Christians approve of you until you follow their religion. Say, “Indeed, the guidance of Allah is the [only] guidance.” If you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, you would have against Allah no protector or helper.

(Muhsin Khan) Never will the Jews nor the Christians be pleased with you (O Muhammad Peace be upon him ) till you follow their religion. Say: “Verily, the Guidance of Allah (i.e. Islamic Monotheism) that is the (only) Guidance. And if you (O Muhammad Peace be upon him ) were to follow their (Jews and Christians) desires after what you have received of Knowledge (i.e. the Quran), then you would have against Allah neither any Wali (protector or guardian) nor any helper.

Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow) 120

(Sahih International) O you who have believed, do not take as intimates those other than yourselves, for they will not spare you [any] ruin. They wish you would have hardship. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater. We have certainly made clear to you the signs, if you will use reason.

(Muhsin Khan) O you who believe! Take not as (your) Bitanah (advisors, consultants, protectors, helpers, friends, etc.) those outside your religion (pagans, Jews, Christians, and hypocrites) since they will not fail to do their best to corrupt you. They desire to harm you severely. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their breasts conceal is far worse. Indeed We have made plain to you the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses) if you understand.

Surat ‘Āli `Imrān (Family of Imran) 118

(Sahih International) There has already been for you an excellent pattern in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, “Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allah . We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone” except for the saying of Abraham to his father, “I will surely ask forgiveness for you, but I have not [power to do] for you anything against Allah . Our Lord, upon You we have relied, and to You we have returned, and to You is the destination.

(Muhsin Khan) Indeed there has been an excellent example for you in Ibrahim (Abraham) and those with him, when they said to their people: “Verily, we are free from you and whatever you worship besides Allah, we have rejected you, and there has started between us and you, hostility and hatred for ever, until you believe in Allah Alone,” except the saying of Ibrahim (Abraham) to his father: “Verily, I will ask for forgiveness (from Allah) for you, but I have no power to do anything for you before Allah.” Our Lord! In You (Alone) we put our trust, and to You (Alone) we turn in repentance, and to You (Alone) is (our) final Return,

These are the ahadith that I could not find references for during the recording of the episode. I will update if I am able to find them in sha Allah.

Episode 6 – Ilhan Omar, Israel, and Bernie Sanders

Quotes of the Four Imams

The sunnahs of the Messenger of Allah (Peace Be Upon him) reach, as well as escape from, every one of us. So whenever I voice my opinion, or formulate a principle, where something contrary to my view exists on the authority of the Messenger of Allah (Peace Be Upon him), then the correct view is what the Messenger of Allah (Peace Be Upon him) has said, and it is my view.

Imam Shafa’i

Every statement on the authority of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon him) is also my view, even if you do not hear it from me.

Imam Shafa’i

When a hadeeth is found to be saheeh, then that is my madhhab.

Imam Abu Hanifa

Truly I am only a mortal: I make mistakes (sometimes) and I am correct (sometimes). Therefore, look into my opinions: all that agrees with the Book and the Sunnah, accept it; and all that does not agree with the Book and the Sunnah, ignore it.

Imam Malik

Do not follow my opinion; neither follow the opinion of Maalik, nor Shaafi’i, nor Awzaa’i, nor Thawri, but take from where they took

Ayat About the People of Lut

And [We had sent] Lot when he said to his people, “Do you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds?

Indeed, you approach men with desire, instead of women. Rather, you are a transgressing people.”

But the answer of his people was only that they said, “Evict them from your city! Indeed, they are men who keep themselves pure.

So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; she was of those who remained [with the evildoers].

And We rained upon them a rain [of stones]. Then see how was the end of the criminals.

Ayat on Hoarding Wealth

O you who have believed, indeed many of the scholars and the monks devour the wealth of people unjustly and avert [them] from the way of Allah . And those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah – give them tidings of a painful punishment.

The Day when it will be heated in the fire of Hell and seared therewith will be their foreheads, their flanks, and their backs, [it will be said], “This is what you hoarded for yourselves, so taste what you used to hoard.”

Surat At-Tawbah (The Repentance) 34-35

And among them are those who made a covenant with Allah , [saying], “If He should give us from His bounty, we will surely spend in charity, and we will surely be among the righteous.”

The Day when it will be heated in the fire of Hell and seared therewith will be their foreheads, their flanks, and their backs, [it will be said], “This is what you hoarded for yourselves, so taste what you used to hoard.”

Brunei Government Not Backing Down

If this is true and this was actually said and isn’t just a fabrication on Facebook, how refreshing it is to see a leader that doesn’t apologize for the Deen and isn’t backing down due to international pressure.

I’m not saying Brunei is perfect or even legitimate Darul-Islam but ma sha Allah, what a difference between this and the sellout coconut scholars like Kufti Menk and Suhaib Webb that endorse homosexuality.

Haven’t yet been able to verify if this is legitimate and not a fabrication

Compilation of Lectures and Evidences Regarding the Refutation of Democracy and Patriotism/Nationalism

Taken from: http://justpaste.it/islamanddemocracy

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

و صلاة و سلام على رسول الله

The core principle of Democracy is that the people govern themselves by coming up with their own laws and then voting on them, and then the laws with the majority of votes go into effect. This system is based on man’s misguided desires and upon the majority decision:

“And if you obey most of those on earth, they will mislead you far away from Allah’s Path. They follow nothing but conjectures, and they do nothing but lie.” http://legacy.quran.com/6/116

“Have you seen the one who takes as his god his own desire?” http://legacy.quran.com/25/43

Democracy takes Allah’s right to legislate, which He has alone as He is the only Creator and the only Lord and thus the only One Who decides halaal and haraam (i.e. the principle of Tawheed al-Haakimiyyah), and instead gives it to man. This is clear cut kufr and shirk, and to willingly participate in this system by voting is an act of shirk. The political climate is irrelevant and makes no difference.

Democracy is a system of the people, by the people, for the people. Islam is the system of Allah, by Allah, for Allah. The two can never intermix or be compatible with each other.

“And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.” http://legacy.quran.com/51/56

“Say, “Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds.” http://legacy.quran.com/6/162

There is ample evidence regarding this issue provided below, and there was absolutely no difference of opinion amongst the Salaf as-Saliheen about this issue. This issue has only arisen in our current times of confusion, fitnah, and the misguided and wicked “scholars” of our times. May Allah grant us Ikhlas, and understanding, and guide us to what pleases Him, ameen.

What Allah Said about His Legislation:

“Legislation is not but for Allah . He has commanded that you worship not except Him. That is the correct religion, but most of the people do not know.” http://legacy.quran.com/12/40

“Is not Allah the Best of judges?” http://legacy.quran.com/95/8

“And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed – then it is those who are the disbelievers.” http://legacy.quran.com/5/44

“They have not besides Him any protector, and He shares not His legislation with anyone.”http://legacy.quran.com/18/26

“Then is it the judgement of [the time of] ignorance they desire? But who is better than Allah in judgement for a people who are certain [in faith].” http://legacy.quran.com/5/50

“O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those [Muslims] in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result. Have you not seen those who claim to have believed in what was revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you? They wish to refer legislation to Taghut, while they were commanded to reject it; and Satan wishes to lead them far astray. And when it is said to them, “Come to what Allah has revealed and to the Messenger,” you see the hypocrites turning away from you in aversion.”http://legacy.quran.com/4/59-61

“But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission.”http://legacy.quran.com/4/65

“So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.” http://legacy.quran.com/2/256

Nationalism: American or Otherwise

As for those who want to unite under the American flag (or the flags of any other kafir nation), or wear American flag hijabs, this is nothing more than a call to asibiyyah (nationalism) and jahiliyyah (the pre-Islamic time of ignorance). And how can you promote or wear the flag of a nation that bombs and kills Muslims on a daily basis, and has been doing so for years?

Beware of the Western so-called “Scholars” and “Da’iees”!

Beware of most of the wicked “scholars”, speakers, and Da’iees of today, particularly from the West. They are only mouthpieces for the Taghut and nothing more. They teach “modernized Western Islam”, not the Islam that was taught by the Prophet (peace be upon him) and that was understood by by the Sahabah and the Salaf as-Saliheen. They are themselves misguided and so they misguide others. Stay away from them and guard your Deen!

I had applied to get the podcast onto iTunes but I just heard back from their application process that it was rejected. Not sure why, I’m not violating their terms as far as I know. Waiting to hear back to see if they’ll give me a specific reason.

In the meantime, you can subscribe to the podcast by manually adding the RSS feed to your podcatcher of choice:

Update: iTunes got back to me and said the show was marked as “irrelevant/spam”. Interesting… Trying to see if that can be corrected.
